Yelp is looking for an experienced Product Design Manager to lead the design efforts for one of our Local Business design teams.

This role is pivotal in creating a cohesive and comprehensive experience for business owners. Your efforts will enable them to connect better with customers, engage more with Yelp, grow their businesses, and realize the true value of Yelp. You will lead design projects to craft meaningful end-to-end experiences for Local Biz owners.

• Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 product designers, providing regular feedback on design work, career progress, and work satisfaction to set them up for success. Foster an environment that promotes career development through new learning opportunities and defined career milestones.
• Ensure consistent and high-quality creative work from your team. Be accountable for the output and quality of your team’s work, ensuring it has a significant impact on the business.
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, writers, researchers, and other designers to make quick decisions in a highly collaborative environment. Partner with product management, engineering, research, and marketing to ensure a smooth product development process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to shape roadmaps and requirements, ensuring teams and projects are properly staffed.
• Advocate for design while promoting a fast-paced environment. Build a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture within the team.
• Represent design alongside product and GTM leaders responsible for the success of Yelp for Local Businesses.
• Recruit and retain top design and research talent, developing a world-class design team.
• Foster and build a fun, diverse, and inclusive culture that reflects Yelp’s values.

• 6+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of work and knowledge of native iOS and responsive web patterns, as well as experience managing a team of product designers.
• Experience with shipping consumer- and/or business-facing products, ideally in marketplaces or social media environments.
• Understanding of how to create cohesive working relationships between various orgs (engineering, product, data science, research, etc.).
• Experience in driving strategy & influencing product roadmaps (short & long-term).
• Demonstrated ability to develop, retain, and lead a world-class design team.
• A passion for Yelp and our mission of connecting people to great local businesses.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent work experience is required.

• Compensation range is $183,000-284,000 annually. You may also be offered restricted stock units and benefits.
• This opportunity has the option to be fully remote in all locations across the US.
